The Carolina Sailing Foundation offers sailing lessons, sailing classes, and racing opportunities for sailing in central North Carolina, primarily at Crosswinds Boating Center on Jordan Lake. We offer sailing camps and lessons for kids, teens, and adults. Our mission is to assist all sailors nine years old and older in learning to sail safely, participating in the sport of sailboat racing and improving sailing and racing skills through our sailing classes. It’s all about learning to sail and having fun!

Programs

Youth Sailing Programs focus on teaching young sailors, from beginners to advanced levels, through hands-on learning and on-the-water experience. Participants gain valuable skills in sailing, teamwork, and leadership.

Camps
Carolina Summer Sailing Camp – A week-long camp for children ages 9-16, offering small group, on-the-water sessions to teach basic and intermediate sailing skills. Campers sail Optimist (“Opti”) and “420” sailboats, with a focus on safety, confidence-building, fun, and skill improvement. All head instructors are US Sailing certified. The camp takes place Monday through Friday at Crosswinds Boating Center on Jordan Lake in Apex, NC. Drop-off is between 8:45-9:00am, and pick-up is at 4:00pm.
