Korean Culture Camp (Camp Moo Gung Hwa) is a day camp in Raleigh, North Carolina, designed to enhance adopted Korean-American children's knowledge of Korean culture and promote self-esteem. The camp offers programs for 3-5 year olds (9:00am-12:00pm), rising 1st-9th graders (9:00am-3:00pm, including lunch), and rising 10th-12th graders as Counselors in Training (CITs). Classes and activities, taught by members of the Korean community and adult adoptees, include history, language, literature, dance, Tae Kwon Do, music, cooking, arts, and crafts, helping children build a sense of identity. Parent sessions are available daily with topics like Korean cooking, adult adoptee discussions, and book reviews. Evening activities include family outings such as bowling, roller skating, and pool parties. The Saturday Family Celebration from 10:00am-2:00pm includes demonstrations, games, and a banquet.
